A companion to the adjacent Copper Vine restaurant and bar, this new boutique hotel is comprised of 11 guest rooms, including a unique suite tucked into the attic of the historic restaurant building. Located directly behind the existing Copper Vine, Studio West provided both architectural and interior design services for the new construction of the hotel.

Upon entry, guests of the inn are welcomed at the restaurant host stand and escorted to the first-floor lounge—a gesture that speaks to Copper Vine Inn’s undeniable hospitable service. Through strategic programming, visual cohesion, and thoughtful wayfinding, the new boutique hotel distinguishes itself from the eatery through well-crafted transitions, complemented by a curated collection of locally sourced art.

Each room with its own flair, emblematic of New Orleans' diverse vitality, and highlights the artistic talent of local and beyond. Envisioned as a curated collection of rooms reflecting New Orleans charm, each guest room tells its own story in a series of distinct experiences, incorporating hand-selected local artwork, custom-designed textiles, and furnishings crafted by local makers.

Inspired by materials, textiles, and characteristics drawn from both the restaurant and the surrounding culture, each of the rooms features hand-blocked drapery prints, artist-designed fabrics, and headboards and nightstands crafted by local millworkers.

The complex reconstruction and renovation of the floorplan juxtapose the interior palette, subtly demonstrating an artful practice in overcoming complexity through craftsmanship. By converting the previously underutilized third-floor attic space into a terrace inn suite, the team, largely inspired by local preservation strategies, was able to maintain original architectural characteristics, including the original brick chimneys, rafters, and dormers.

A previously modified historic dormer was also reconstructed and introduced to connect to the new terrace, while adding a new matching dormer to create a dedicated shower and bathing room. To maximize the space, custom-designed millwork in the dormers and sloped ceilings includes a daybed, closets, a kitchen, bar, and vanities.
