
Jennie Cannon West is a practicing architect and interior designer and Principal and Founder of Studio West in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jennie has spent 17 years as a designer and architect redefining community, cultural, educational, and hospitality spaces in New Orleans and across the Southern United States.
Combining a passion for art and research with a commitment to listening to clients and translating their vision into design, Jennie believes successful projects require collaboration, design vision, technical expertise, and strategic thinking. Jennie believes design can bring communities together and is passionate about creating spaces at the nexus of historic preservation, sustainability, and interior design.
Raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Jennie moved to New Orleans in 2009 and New Orleans is now home. Jennie earned a dual degree in Architecture and Interior Architecture from Auburn University, where she was a member of the Rural Studio design program. Jennie currently serves as the Chair for the New Orleans Historic Districts Landmarks Commission, trustee for the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, board member of the Woman’s Exchange for the Hermann- Grima + Gallier Historic Houses in the French Quarter, and board Member of the Arts Council of New Orleans. Jennie practiced architecture and interior design for several notable New Orleans design firms prior to starting her own studio, Studio West, in 2018. Studio West is a women-owned business with Architecture and Interior Design Certified DBE, SBE, and LED Hudson Initiative status.
