Open Position: Architectural Designer 2-6 years

 

Studio West is looking for a 2-6 year experienced architect or architectural designer to join our studio. If interested in applying, please submit your resume and portfolio (10mb max) to collaborate@studiowest.design.  

Studio West is an award-winning architecture and interior design studio located in New Orleans, LA focused on multiple commercial project types including hospitality, education, civic, cultural projects, master planning, and historic preservation. We are looking for a motivated, passionate, and high-energy architectural designer who values working in a collaborative environment to join our team.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with studio members in development of concept design through completion of construction for multiple projects. 

  • Responsible for management and execution of projects working directly with Principals. 

  • Position is in-office. 

 

Essential Skills 

  • Strong design and idea origination skills. 

  • Strong visual communication skills.  

  • Ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings, 3D models, and other documents relating to design and documentation. 

  • Required Software Proficiency: Enscape, Revit, Adobe Suite, and Office Suite. 

  • Strong organization and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Strong time management skills and self-starter attitude.  

  • Experience producing architectural drawing sets. 

  • Experience working in historic renovation, adaptive reuse is preferred but not required.

 

Experience 

  • Bachelor or Master Degree from a NAAB accredited Architecture School is required.  

  • 2-6 years of professional experience working for a commercial architecture studio. 

  • Prior experience in an architectural or interior design firm setting is required.

  • Legal permits and visas required to work in USA.  

  • Licensed Architect or pursuing licensure in Architecture.  

  • Other professional certifications are assets but not required. 

 

Salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits package. Studio West supports Architectural licensure if applicant is not already licensed.

  • Furniture Specifications Software: Fohlio or DesignSpec, or similar software is preferred but not required.  

  • Strong organization and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Experience producing architectural drawing sets. 

  • Experience working in historic renovation, adaptive reuse is preferred but not required.  

 

Experience 

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.  

  • 2-6 years of professional experience working for a commercial interior design studio. Preferred, but not required licensed or pursuing licensure in Interior Design.  

  • Experience in Commercial Furniture Specification is preferred.  

  • Experience in Interior Design procurement is preferred.  

  • Legal permits and visas required to work in USA.

  • Prior experience in an architectural or interior design firm setting. 

  • Other professional certifications are assets, but not required.
